Music on the Internet isn't new. But using an Internet radio station toaddress development certainly is. Lemon24 is the interactive online audio channel in Bangla for Bangla speaking audience globally. Lemon24as an Internet Radio station serves two goals-to reconnect the global Bangladeshi to their roots and give them a chance to be a part ofBangladesh's development. The medium is very interactive. Some of the programs have "call to ask" functions where the listeners can call inand have their questions answered. Besides, the channel provides infotainment related matter that will help all kinds of audiences,whether rural or urban, to get the best out of the station. Lemon24 has plans of reaching deep rural interiors with the help of its telecenters.

Community Radio Stations

Assisting to open faces of the community radio stations

CBS is another helpline wing of MCC to extensively assist the upcoming community radio stations in terms of technical and creative aspects. CBS is an online and virtual platform for the community radio stations for sharing their contents through uploading and downloading from a vibrant web portal. CBS also assist the radio stations to be sustainable financially through managing advertisements and sponsors from the business community.

CBS provides technical supports in terms of radio station and studio installation, transmitting and other operational technologies. CBS provides training in terms of keeping the station up to the mark, maintaining equipments, power management etc.

CBS also provides training to the station managers on making audio programs, interviews, local journalism and news presenting, live conversations with sound editing and program archiving. CBS already have published an audio CD about what to do and not to do with community radio stations.

Jeeon-IKB( Information and Knowledge Base) received Manthan South Asia Award2008. It is to be mentioned that other five initiatives from Bangladeshalso received award this time. This is an award for promoting digitalcontent for development under the aegis of World Summit Award announcedduring World Summit on Information society during 2003 and 2005. Thecontent development team is happy that its knowledge management effortsreceived first recognition outside the geographical boundary. TheJeeon-IKB is being used now in more than 200 telecentres in the country.

We dream to bring it out as afull-fledged tv channel for children in near future. We have currentlyno tv programme especially for children in Bangladesh. dugdugi.tv willcover the emptiness.

dugdugi.tv encourages children to maketheir own programme, whatever they like. Thus we mentor to bring outthe immense creativity of children to establish their right to chooseand right to express over the crowd of haziness.
